Professor Dr. Daniel Y. C. Fung (Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas, USA): Sampling and sample preparation of solid and liquid foods; surfaces; and air. Miniaturization. Diagnostic kits. Methods for viable cell counts: hydrophobic grid, spiral plating, flow cytometry, direct epifluorescent filter technique (DEFT). Methods for viable cell counts, based on electric impedance, conductance and capacitance; bioluminiscence (ATP analysis); and colorimetry.
