Summary:
Pharmaceutical - Conference
With rates of hospital acquired infections soaring and the concurrent increase in NHS spending on long term wound management, enhanced therapeutic approaches are urgently needed. Intelligent materials and controlled release devices may provide an alternative to traditional wound healing practices.
This unique one-day conference on wound management aims to deliver world class research solutions in this strategic area and will bring delegates up-to-date with recent developments in this field. The event has gathered together speakers with expertise in front line wound treatment, material science, next generation device development and antimicrobial interventions at the molecular level to tackle this complex area.
Presentations and discussions on the day will be centred around:
Novel antimicrobial materials (synthesis, formulation and natural product applications)
Devices, such as drug eluting stents, and catheters (formulation, process, modelling behaviour, IVIVC)
Biomaterials (synthesis, formulation, characterisation)
