Merck KgaA offers more than 400 major media formulations, extracts, agars, and peptones in a granulated form; these products are very unique worldwide.
Modern developments include the addition of fluorogenic and chromogenic substrates into Chromocult® and Fluorocult® media, simplifying interpretation of results.
Bactident® biochemical test kits are also commonly used to aid in identification of bacterial colonies.
We also offer Fermtech® technical grade raw mateials mainly used for fermentation purposes which originate from BSE-free countries recognized by the USDA. Certificates of Origin (CoO) and Certificates of Analysis (CoA) are provided on request.
The facilities at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Gemany are ISO 9001 certified, operating to the highest standards in the world. As a pharmaceutical and chemical company, we are familiar with customer/supplier audits.
Just this year we launched Readycult® Coliforms 100 for the simultaneous detection of E.coli and coliforms in drinking water. The method received US EPA aproval in October 2002.
The Merck KGaA product line also includes MAS-100® family of Microbial Air Samplers, the highest quality and most accurate air samplers available.
For hygiene monitoring, the NAD-based HY-RiSE® Rapid Hygiene Test and the ATP-bioluminescence HY-LiTE® 2 systems provide a variety of options for use in HACCP programs.
Merck KGaA have also introduced a full line of Singlepath® Lateral Flow Tests for the detection and identification of food pathogens including Listeria, Salmonella, Campylobacter and E.coli 0157 (AOAC RI approved), and a Duopath® Lateral Flow Test for VT1 and VT2 verotoxins of E.coli 0157.
