FluXXion (Eindhoven, The Netherlands) develops and designs micro filtration analytical membranes based on proven production technology from the semiconductor and micro system industries

A wide variety of different membrane pore sizes are available today. Due to the nature of these membranes a very small membrane surface area is sufficient to filter liquid or gaseous samples of considerable size in a very short time.

Therefore it becomes e.g. possible to do microbiological counts on the membrane surface. The unique narrow pore size distribution of the membranes results in controlled absolute filters Also due to the 1 micron membrane pore length and the material of the membrane no particles or other substance will be lost in the membrane wall structure.

The analytical membranes are chemically inert and therefore resistant to a very wide range of cleaning agents and can be steam sterilised Handling of the filters is easy for further analysis e.g. to apply fluorescence liquids or PCR analysis.
